FINDING CARMEN
I’m delighted to have completed my debut Adult Crime/Mystery novel, FINDING CARMEN.
Click here to read the novel’s first two chapters. Here is a synopsis of the novel:
Mick Romano is a middle-aged newspaper reporter who is in a rut -- when a worrisome email from an old friend from Guatemala sends him on a quest to solve a 15-year-old murder. In order to help his friend Carmen, Mick is plunged into an investigation of events that span decades, from the horrific violence of the 1980s that devastated Guatemala to the fate of a critical Presidential election.
Mick uses his reporting tools to learn the explosive truths about his friend Carmen, who is deep in hiding in an American city, fearful of the hired goons who have been sent to intimidate her. As his investigation deepens, and FINDING CARMEN moves to its tense conclusion, Mick and Carmen must figure out which Guatemalan presidential candidate is trying to silence them.
Complete – and revised – at 99,000 words, FINDING CARMEN is an Adult Crime/Mystery novel that will appeal to fans of Don Winslow and Dennis Lehane. I believe my debut novel falls in the the genres crime/mystery, suspense and upmarket/literary-leaning fiction.
I am currently seeking representation for FINDING CARMEN. Click here to read the novel’s first two chapters.
